Raise a child in this life sim

Chinese Parents is a captivating life simulation game that immerses players in the journey of an ordinary child growing up in China. This casual sim offers a unique blend of realism and cultural authenticity, allowing players to experience the joys and challenges of childhood and adolescence, culminating in the daunting "Gaokao" examination.

Chinese Parents’ core revolves around balancing several different elements such as academic rigor, personal growth, and social interactions, offering a heartfelt glimpse into the life of a student. Much like titles such as Dead Plate, this indie game offers branching plotlines based on your choices.

Choose your own parenting style

From birth to the end of high school, players navigate the intricacies of growing up, making choices that shape their character and future. The game presents a series of mini games and activities that contribute to the development of various stats, such as intelligence, creativity, and physical fitness. Players can choose to play as either a boy or a girl, each with unique experiences and storylines.

The game is rich with heartfully woven narratives and distinctive characters, making each playthrough a new and engaging experience. One of the game's highlights is the ability to interact with 14 different friends, offering diverse social scenarios and potential romantic developments. A significant aspect of Chinese Parents is the exploration of parenting styles. This dynamic influences the child's happiness and stress levels, making each decision impactful.

As already mentioned, another compelling feature is the extensive range of career endings — over 100 possible outcomes based on the player's choices and achievements. Moreover, the game introduces a generational legacy system where the accomplishments of one generation benefit the next, encouraging players to think strategically about long-term goals. However, there are instances where the game can flag the use of special characters when naming a baby, even when you're not using any.

Cultivate a happy and healthy family dynamic

Chinese Parents excels as a slice-of-life simulator, offering an authentic and engaging portrayal of growing up. Despite occasional issues with character naming, the game’s depth, cultural richness, and variety of choices make it a standout experience. Whether navigating academic pressures, building relationships, or planning for the future, this simulation game provides a rewarding and insightful journey through the lens of a child's life.
